CropEnergies’ 2017/18 ethanol production rose 12% but operating profits down

May 17, 2018 |

In Germany, Platts reports that CropEnergies’ ethanol production jumped 12% during 2017/18 to a record 1.149 million cu m, together with 15% more animal feed and protein production of 662,000 metric tons saw revenues increase 10% on the year to $1.042 billion. Higher raw material cost and maintenance saw operating profits fall by a quarter to $85 million. Lower ethanol prices are expected to cut operating profits by another 50% or more, but the higher expectations see them near this year’s levels.
