In the Netherlands, Platts reports that T2 ethanol margins are at the lowest seen in three years at negative $48 per metric ton as European wheat prices soar to $208/mt due to dry weather conditions that have many concerned about yields from the upcoming harvest. Corn ethanol producers aren’t having a great time either although they’re not squeezed as tightly as wheat-based ethanol producers with margins of around negative $21 per ton. Ethanol producers are suffering from some of the lowest prices seen in history.
