Transition to Enogen slow for some but fast for others

In Illinois, when it comes to integrating Enogen into the supply chain, some ethanol producers in the Midwest are jumping in whole hog, like Tharaldson who did a six-month trial with the 2017 crop and will go 100% Enogen 2018-2020, while others like Midwest AgEnergy have done much smaller trials running 15% Enogen twice so far this year. Farmers have also been jumping in thanks to higher yields and premiums but they’re concerned that they’ll have to shift to newer varieties in the coming years as new technologies replace the current fad.
