Elite Octane comes online just in time to flood pre-holiday DDGS market

July 4, 2018 |

In Iowa, Platts reports that Elite Octane’s new 120 million gallon per year ethanol plant started crushing corn this week, just in time to load extra supplies of DDGS on the local market ahead of the holiday weekend when stocks are high and demand is low. Some plants are offering DDGS at a $20/ton discount against regular prices in an attempt to offload supplies. The new Elite Octane facility is expected to add another 380,000 tons of DDGS to the regional market.
