France warns Malaysia to keep its nose clean on palm oil

In Malaysia, the Borneo Post reports that the French ambassador has sent a strong warning to palm oil producers and the national government that if the production of palm isn’t done sustainably, even though the ban on palm oil has been postponed until 2030, European consumers won’t stand for it. France’s Total plans to use 300,000 metric tons of palm oil annually at its La Mede biorefinery but sustainability with be closely scrutinized by the public.
