July 16, 2018 |

In India, the Press Trust of India reports that the government is currently exploring the expansion of its current subsidy on LPG use to include biofuel and piped natural gas for cooking in an effort to boost their consumption for clean cooking. There are concerns that the LPG subsidy was discriminating against biofuel use in rural areas and PNG in urban areas, so evening the playing field for clean cooking fuels could be introduced into the National Energy Policy 2030. The draft law was presented last year.
