Malaysian investors to put $15 million into W2E plant to power eco resorts

In Malaysia, Syonku Group with team with Hira Energy to invest $15 million in the country’s first waste-to-energy pilot plant and will be the third in Asia using the specific technology, following Thailand and Indonesia. Hira Energy has been licensed a US technology that will be implemented for the project, first processing up to 300 metric tons of MSW per day and later scaled up. The facility is planned for Semporna, a region famous for its tourism, where it will use waste generated from hotels and resorts to boost its “eco” profile.
