Philippines may suspend biofuels mandates to keep oil companies from going to Euro 2

In the Philippines, it appears the Department of Energy is open to throwing the biofuels industry under the bus instead of standing up to the oil industry who says that high biofuel costs and higher quality diesel standards are incompatible for their economics. The oil companies want to slide back to Euro 2 diesel standards but the DOE said it is open to exploring the suspending the 2% biodiesel and 10% ethanol blending mandates that have been criticized for not achieving economic development for the agri sectors as planned.
