Taiwan’s Sunho Biodiesel says it has the solution to cheaper B100

August 22, 2018 |

In Taiwan, Sunho Biodiesel Corporation says biodiesel in public transport hasn’t yet taken off because of the high production costs but says its proprietary ET Process® can be competitive. Based on the current price for used cooking oil around $0.23 per pound and petroleum-based diesel price around $3.37 per gallon, the price of B100 from ET Process® can be much lower than the price of petroleum-based diesel at the same heating value. Without subsidies, the plant can also be financially self-sustaining with payback period of 3 – 5 years.
