Around 150 sugar mills have presented ethanol projects for soft loan funding

In India, the Press Trust of India reports that roughly 150 ethanol projects including greenfield projects and expansions have been proposed by sugar mills seeking soft loans announced back in June that would help them to diversify, boost their weak finances and help supply more ethanol for the 10% blending mandate. The majority of applications come from Uttar Pradesh. Just because the government approves a project doesn’t mean a bank must lend the mill the loan, however.
