India launches app to facilitate UCO collection for biodiesel feedstock

In India, the national biodiesel association has launched an app to help facilitate collection of used cooking oil around the country that will be feedstock for biodiesel production. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hopes that by 2022, 2.2 million metric tons of UCO will have been converted into biodiesel. The project is part of the new collaboration agreement between the agency and the association to boost UCO biodiesel production following the deregulation of biodiesel.
