Nigeria teams with China on 10 large-scale biofuel facilities

September 5, 2018 |

In Nigeria, the national oil company NNPC has agreed a two-part MOU deal with Chinese private sector consortiums to develop no less than 10 large-scale biofuel production complexes. The head of the NNPC said the development of the first three would be under way by the end of the year. The agreements were signed at the country’s embassy in Beijing as part of the China-Africa Cooperation Summit currently underway as a way to help Nigeria achieve its Paris commitments of 10% ethanol blending and 20% biodiesel blending.
