Platts sees US corn ethanol crush margin falling to jus 1.84 cents/gal

September 11, 2018 |

In Texas, Platts estimates that the average crush margin fell to just 1.84 cents/gal on Monday compared to 6.19 cents/gal the week prior as corn prices gained in the fact of falling Argo benchmark ethanol prices. Seasonal closures for maintenance aren’t expected to impact supplies and provide support for prices until the end of September. A major export shipment from the Gulf Coast saw stocks fall there but all other regions saw stocks increase as production continues to increase and demand tapers off.
