UK grease thieves producing biodiesel and selling it on the black market

In the UK, the Press Association reports that grease robbers are stepping up their game by not just stealing used cooking oil from restaurants but also by turning it into poor quality biodiesel that is then sold on the black market to avoid fuel duty. Though the government allows individuals to produce up to 2,500 liters of biodiesel per year for personal use without paying excise duty and that commercially manufactured biodiesel is perfectly safe, local authorities are warning drivers to not be fooled by the seemingly cheaper fuel that could end up damaging their vehicles.
