Ethanol production on the rise again but stocks see biggest ever weekly drop

November 1, 2018 |

In Washington, Platts reports that Energy Information Administration data shows that ethanol production rose yet again in the week ending October 26 after several weeks of falling volumes that weren’t low enough to make a dent in swelling inventories. Production rose 1.059 million b/d, up 35,000 b/d on the week and 3,000 b/d higher than the same period a year ago. Stocks did finally fall last week by 1.151 million barrels, much higher than industry expectations and the largest single-week fall on record.
