Malaysia accused of going too slow on B10

November 5, 2018 |

In Malaysia, the government has been criticized by a Singaporean-based palm oil analyst for being late to the game with its B10 program, saying it should be more aggressive in its implementation. With palm oil prices making biodiesel cheaper than fossil-based diesel since April, he said the country is losing a major opportunity as it could be using the fuel instead of exporting. Exports through October were up 64% on the year. The B10 policy was meant to be implemented three years ago. In order to implement, the local water association is calling for strict standards for both B7 and B10.
