#3 Edible chocolate straws just in time for hot cocoa season

In Ireland, three running friends launched Ecostraws, a company focused on biodegradable and edible drinking straws and cutlery. The company produces edible straws in a variety of flavors like chocolate, strawberry, and lemon, as well as pasta-based straws, wheat-based straws, bamboo-based straws, PLA straws made from sugarcane or corn starch, and more.
The European Parliament’s ban on single-use plastics by 2021 is helping the company and Brian O’Callaghan, one of the founders and now the Managing Director of Ecostraws, said “The mindset is changing, and your head would have to be buried in the sand to not realise the current movement.”
