Indian Air Force to use 10% biofuel in one plane during Republic Day flypast

January 7, 2019 |

In India, despite the country failing to put together a plan to commercialize the use of aviation biofuel following successful commercial and military flights, the Indian Air Force continues to demonstrate the fuel’s use. It will use 10% aviation biofuel in one of its AN-32 transportation planes during its annual flypast on Republic Day January 26. Last month, an AN-32 flew on 10% biofuel produced from jatropha. The IAF plans to also trial aviation biofuel in Sukhoi-30 and MiG-29s as well as other planes.
