Concerns that Trump’s relationship with Argentine president behind biodiesel tariff review

In Washington, Reuters reports that there are concerns by some in the biodiesel industry that President Trump has chosen his decades-long relationship with the Argentine president over the good of the biodiesel industry by agreeing to review anti-dumping tariffs on Argentine imports. The Commerce Department says the review, although uncommon, has precedent and the changes Argentina made to its biodiesel export taxes are enough to justify the review. With Argentina’s currency weakened, it needs to find ways to improve its trade balance with the US and exporting biodiesel is one way of achieving that.
