Federal government seizing Washakie Renewable Energy following fraud scam

In Utah, local press reports that following the unsealing of the indictment against the CEO and CFO of Washakie Renewable Energy, along with their mother and one of their wives with charges related to defrauding the government of more than $1.1 billion by claiming to have produced 1 billion gallons of biodiesel, the Federal Government is seeking to seize the facility along with 500 acres of undeveloped land nearby. Some of the defrauded funds were used to expand the production capacity of the facility. Assets in California, Utah and Texas as well as 10 vehicles will also be seized.
