Indonesian government says it needs to up its game to incentivize biofuel

In Indonesia, the Jakarta Post reports that the head of renewable energy for the Energy and Mineral Resources Ministry said a lack of incentives for biofuels has tampered demand and that the government must step up to ensure that energy prices for consumers don’t increase due to the switch to biofuels. Potential incentives include capping the price of crude palm oil to make sure it doesn’t make fuel unaffordable as well as imposing a domestic market obligation like is done currently for coal.
