Philippines boosts Q2 domestic ethanol quotas 38% higher on the year

In the Philippines, Platts reports that Q2 domestic ethanol quotas were set at 38% higher on the year at 99,650 cu m thanks to an increase in the number of producers, though it is only 7.5% higher than those set for Q1 2019. During the first half of January, domestic ethanol prices were running at around $1,060/cu m while imported ethanol was around $446.56/cu m CIF Philippines during the same period. High domestic molasses prices force locally produced ethanol prices higher compared to imports.
