In China, Xinhua news agency reports that 10% ethanol blending will be piloted in the cities of Taiyuan, Yangquan, Changzhi and Jincheng in the coal-rich region of Shanxi province in an effort to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Once the trial phase is passed, the local government expects to implement ethanol blending across the province in 2020, in line with the national mandate. In preparation for introduction of the blend, the province is currently upgrading thousands of fueling stations and installing infrastructure.
