Brazilian 2018/19 soy exports seen falling as much as 18% in part due to increased biodiesel demand

In Brazil, Mercopress reports that the state agricultural statistics agency Conab expects increased domestic biodiesel demand to contribute to lower soybean exports in 2018/19, coupled with the fact that production has dropped, and Chinese import demand will likely fall off in light of easing trade tensions with the US. Early start to the harvest as well as getting rid of excess stocks from last year saw 37% higher exports in January but that is expected to taper off.
