Green groups preparing to bash Democratic presidential candidates for RFS support

In Washington, Politico reports that Democratic candidates for the 2020 presidential race are lining up to support ethanol and the Renewable Fuel Standard in an effort to win support from Iowa ahead of its caucus, with Kamala Harris supposedly the only major candidate who may go the other way on the issue but who has yet to publicly confirm her position. The Democratic party has said it wants to strengthen its environmental credentials, especially on issues such as climate change, but environmental activists are already alluding that support of biofuels goes against that policy platform and could fight hard against the RFS.
