T2 ethanol wheat crush margins jump to 18-month high

In the Netherlands, Platts reports that the crush margin for European T2 ethanol produced from wheat reached an 18-month high at near EUR100 per metric ton thanks to wheat prices easing to eight-month lows. Margins have jumped from negative margins during much of last year. Aggressive bidding in the spot market for T2 ethanol over the past few days led to the surge in crush margins. The EU has reduced its imports of ethanol, especially from the US, due to concerns over higher greenhouse gas emissions.
