Illinois producing up to 171 million gallons of biodiesel annually

In Illinois, Illinois is one of the nation’s largest biodiesel-producing states, with five plants producing up to 171 million gallons of biodiesel per year—enough to keep thousands of diesel vehicles on the road. The Illinois Soybean Association (ISA) checkoff program is a national leader in research and education to help diesel vehicle operators, retailers and fleets understand the benefits of biodiesel. It reduces lifecycle GHG emissions by 72 percent and cuts fossil fuel use by 80 percent.
