Nigerian cassava-based ethanol plant getting close to launch

March 19, 2019 |

In Nigeria, local press reports that the planned ethanol production facility in Ondo state is expected to come online soon, though a date for commissioning wasn’t reported. The article said the project came about following the governor’s trip to China last year, insinuating that the technology for the project could be Chinese. The plant is meant to process up to 400 metric tons of cassava per day and is seen as an opportunity to employ unengaged youth in the area.
