Major palm oil player says EU’s karma will suffer and eventually will have to compromise on ban

In Singapore, Bloomberg reports that the head of Golden-Agri Resources says the EU will eventually have to compromise on its extreme stance regarding the banning of palm oil because reality doesn’t allow for a massive increase in soybean and canola production to make up for the supply gap. In an interview, he said that the EU will “get their karma” for the “discriminatory” policies that will negatively impact 17 million Indonesian oil palm farmers that will suffer from lack of demand and resulting low prices.
