New set of investors try to develop biomass-power plant in Ukraine

May 8, 2019 |

In Ukraine, Interfax reports that a 130 MW straw-based power plant is under development in the Khmelnytsky region. The facility is expected to use 270,000 metric tons per year of baled straw from various sources as feedstock. Danish technology provider Burmeister & Wain is expected to design and supply the equipment for the facility. It isn’t clear when the new plant is likely to be commissioned. Irish investors sought to build a similar plant back in 2011 but the project was never implemented.
