Qantas working with government to develop aviation biofuel production asap

In Australia, the Daily Mail reports that Qantas’ head of sustainability says the next federal government needs to take subsidies for aviation biofuels seriously if the country is going to compete with California as the main supplier in the Pacific. He said the company has discussed building an aviation biofuel facility with the current government as well as opposition, saying that a decision to move forward needs to be taken quickly. The company recently flew its first waste-free flight and says that after waste, aviation biofuels is its next environmental priority.
