UK’s Serious Fraud Office teams with Netherlands to investigate Greenergy on biodiesel trading

In the UK, the Serious Fraud Office confirmed that it has opened a joint investigation with the Dutch authorities concerning certain aspects of biodiesel trading at Greenergy and various third parties.

Searches were conducted on April 30 at five sites across the UK and additional sites in the Netherlands and Belgium. Four individuals have been arrested and released without charge. The company said it only became aware of the investigation on the day of the searches. Greenergy said in a statement that it takes these matters very seriously and is engaging and co-operating fully with the authorities.
