Indonesia looks to use Pertamina’s storage for biodiesel to reduce costs

In Indonesia, the Jakarta Post newspaper reports that the energy ministry is looking at potentially using Pertamina’s storage tanks to store biodiesel in an attempt to reduce infrastructure costs for the fuel and its mandated B20 blend. Already the ministry has begun inspections on eight storage facilities to ensure appropriate specifications, handling, safety and other aspects. Ship-to-ship distribution had been introduced to keep transportation costs from skyrocketing following expansion into B20 blending but more needs to be done.
