June 10, 2019 |

In Zambia, the Daily Mail newspaper reports that the Energy Regulation Board is expected to greenlight a 15 million liter per year ethanol plant following a final expectation later this month. The $1.5 million plant is expected to commission in September. The country has been trying to find ways in order to increase domestic fuel production and reduce reliance on foreign imports for fossil fuel. The country was an early supporter of biodiesel which hasn’t taken off as many expected but ethanol production remains limited.
