Chinese biodiesel imports soar in April but so do exports

June 13, 2019 |

In China, OilPrice.com reports that biodiesel imports jumped a whopping 194.2% in April to 38,669 metric tons thanks to a tight market. Indonesia supplied 34,455.39 tons while 4,010 tons came from Hong Kong. In spite of increased import demand in part due to lower run rates for domestic producers, China exported 68,555 tons of biodiesel. With lower crude oil prices in May compared to April, the market expects May imports to have been lower than in April.
