Thai government looking to wind down biofuel subsidies in the name of fuel price stability

In Thailand, the Bangkok Post newspaper reports that the government may look to end subsidies for 20% and 85% ethanol as well as 10% and 20% biodiesel blends in the next three years on the back of concerns that the subsidies are negatively impacting fuel price stability. New laws that came in in late May seek to stabilize fuel prices. The Energy Fund Administration Institute says the national petroleum institute will be hired to look at the proposed phasing out of subsidies.
