Ethanol production slips but stocks continue to build in Gulf Coast and Midwest

In Washington, Platts reports that ethanol slipped slightly from the week before to 1.047 million b/d, 35,000 b/d lower than the last full week of June by still 14,000 b/d higher than the year prior. Despite the slight slowdown in production, stocks still rose by 165,000 barrels to 23.009 million barrels with nearly half a million-barrel increase in the Gulf Coast region, indicating likelihood of stocks for export, as well as in the Midwest. Stocks in the other three regions fell.
