Environmental groups concerned about funny business with proposed reopening of Columbia Pacific Bio-Refinery

July 24, 2019 |

In Oregon, local media reports that Global Partners is looking to change two of the permits for the ethanol plant at the Columbia Pacific Bio-Refinery in Clatskanie that has been mothballed since 2009 so it can produce ethanol from wheat as well as corn but the plan is coming up against opposition by environmental groups. The environmental groups believe that the company is seeking to instead convert the facility to one that deals with fossil fuels and is using the permit change process to cover up its plans.
