Tongaat Hulett seeking government support for ethanol expansion project

In Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Eye reports that sugar giant Tongaat Hulett is seeking assistance from the government to that it can invest in ethanol production expansion to 60 million liters annually from 40 million liters currently. The increased ethanol capacity comes as a result of conversion of 3,000 ha of land to sugarcane that will provide the additional molasses supplies. The Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Energy and Power Development chairman who recently visited the project said it should be supported.
