EPA says 2018 hardship waiver decisions to be ready in less than a month

In Pennsylvania, Reuters reports that the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency said they are currently reviewing the 2018 applications for hardship waivers by small refiners with decisions expected in the next few weeks or a month at the latest. The agency has come under fire by both ethanol proponents for its seemingly lax standards in approving applications and by the oil industry for taking so long to make the decisions at all, the latter of whom has threatened to sue if decisions aren’t announced soon.
