Petrojam to destroy 4,300 barrels of ethanol contaminated between 2015 and 2016

August 1, 2019 |

In Jamaica, local press reports that over the course of the next eight weeks, 4,300 barrels of contaminated ethanol owned by Petrojam will be burned by Caribbean Cement in an effort to dispose of it. The contaminated ethanol was discovered during a bad gas episode between 2015 and 2016 and has been stored ever since awaiting its disposal. Transportation of the three tankers per week to the disposal site is being down under tight security to ensure no diversion of the contaminated fuel.
