Indonesia eyeing B30 by January and B50 by 2021

In Indonesia, the Jakarta Post reports that the country’s president wants to see the biodiesel mandate increase to 30% as soon as January with an eye on 50% blending before 2021. Currently the mandate is for 20%. The aim of the rapid increase in the mandate is to offset any demand destruction from the European Union’s ban on palm oil for biodiesel in order to protect palm oil prices and in turn palm oil farmers.
