European Commission confirms anti-dumping duties on Indonesian biodiesel imports

In Belgium, in line with expectations, Reuters reports that the European Commission has confirmed interim anti-dumping duties on imports of Indonesian palm oil-based biodiesel of between 8% and 18% while an ongoing investigation looks into potential damage caused to European biodiesel producers continues, perhaps through December. The investigation was launched after a formal complaint filed last December by the European Biodiesel Board. Indonesia has threatened duties on European dairy imports as retaliation for the additional biodiesel tariffs.
