Chinese demand destruction seen hitting 2019 ethanol exports by 100 million gallons

In China, the Ethanol Group President at The Andersons told Platts that US ethanol exports could fall to 1.5 billion gallons in 2019, down 100 million gallons on the year, as a result of reduced demand from China. As the industry looks for other markets to take up the missing gallons from China, India may become a target market, as well as Japan, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines already targeted by the US Grains Council.
