EPA administrator tells House committee there has been no ethanol demand destruction

In Washington, Platts reports that the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency told the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology that there has been no demand destruction for ethanol as a result of his agency approving recently 31 hardship waivers for small refineries. Platts analysts expect ethanol demand to fall by 34 million gallons in 2019 compared to 2018, based on Energy Information Administration data. The administrator told the committee that ethanol has seen an “uptick” over the past two years.
