Indonesian railroads to trial B100

September 30, 2019 |

In Indonesia, Antara news agency reports that the state-owned railway is teaming with private railway service providers to trial 100% biodiesel use in trains. The railway is already using 20% biodiesel and has successfully completed trials of 30% biodiesel in line with the government’s aim to boost blending to B30, but now it is looking to go all the way with 100%. The expectation is that blending will be gradual, hitting 30%, 40% and 50% before taking the plunge to 100%. A Caterpillar subsidiary is also collaborating on the project.
