In France, Platts reports that the International Energy Agency says China’s plans to triple ethanol production over the next five years to 11 billion liters will help see overall global ethanol production increase by 25% in 2024 compared to 2018 at 190.3 billion liters. Last year’s five-year outlook report saw an estimate of 154 billion liters in 2023. Policy-driven growth is also expected to boost production in US and Brazil, according to the Renewables 2019 report.
