Uttar Pradesh coop mills to invest $22.6 million in 53 million liters of extra ethanol production

In India, the Business Standard newspaper reports that Uttar Pradesh cooperative sugar mills expect to supply an additional 53 million liters of ethanol to oil marketing companies following invest of $22.6 million in fresh production capacity. With the addition of zero-discharge technologies at six existing distilleries in the state, an additional 35 million liters of ethanol and 13.5 million liters of rectified spirit will be produced. Two other mills will see ethanol production expanded by 18 million liters each along with 3 million liters of rectified spirit as well.
