Strategie Grains lowers 2020 rapeseed estimate to just 19 million tons

In France, Reuters reports that Strategie Grains as revised its 2020 rapeseed production estimate lower yet again to just 19 million metric tons, below the 20 million tons produced in 2018 but a recovery from the 16.9 million tons produced in 2019. The smaller crops resulting from extreme dry weather and pest challenges are expected to lead to increased demand for imports to supply biodiesel demand, which countries like Canada and Australia are seen benefiting from.
