Avril pivots towards 100% French feedstock and will sell two biodiesel plants

November 11, 2019 |

In France, Reuters reports that on the back of competition from cheaper biodiesel imports, Avril is looking to potentially sell two of its biodiesel production assets as it looks to revamp the business unit. It is also going to stop importing palm oil as feedstock in line with European and French laws prohibiting its use on environmental grounds. The company plans to focus exclusively on selling B100 produced from French rapeseed, a product it launched last year.
